Besides discounts on many games, there will also be a lot of additional goodies and stickers that people can get their hands on. Free stickers will also be available throughout the sale for people to grab. Epic Games will be offering 15 free games until December 30th. PlayStation is also going to have up to 80% off on AAA.

Moreover, there will also be an abundance of flash sales, special deals on games, and daily deals. All of these would make great gifts for holidays for people who have gamer relatives.

Lunar New Year removed

With the announcement of this sale, Valve also announced that the Lunar New Year sale will be removed. It will be replaced by a Spring sale, which will begin on March 16, 2023. Valve has given the following reason for the removal of the Lunar New Year sale:

‘Over the years we’ve received feedback that Lunar New Year was often much too close to the December holiday sale period. We think many publishers will still opt to discount games around the Lunar New Year holiday, using the custom discount tools.

‘But we suspect customers will be better served by a little bit more time between the big Steam-wide seasonal sales.’

Steam Deck Upgrade, battery life, size, and upgrade

With the sale going live soon, it was also announced that the next generation of Steam Deck will not have any performance upgrade, Pierre-Loup Griffais, Steam Deck designer told The Verge.

“I think we will opt to keep the one performance level for a little bit longer, and only look at changing the performance level when there is a significant gain to be had,” said Pierre-Loup Griffais, a Steam Deck designer.

Besides that, they will now be changing their focus to battery performance.
