The Game Awards 2022 is Shorter than Last Year

Geoff Keighley is doing all f the heavy lifting in providing us with information concerning the Awards. Since we know there will be 40 announcements, which is less than last year, it is natural to assume that the lineup and ceremony will also take less time. Keighly said,” One thing we’re doing this year is we’re trying to make the show a little bit shorter. I won’t say anything officially until we’re through our rehearsals, but we think it’s going to be a significantly shorter show this year.”

He explained the reasoning behind it was to avoid show fatigue because the viewers might also get tired of it. In that sense, he said,” There are lots of games and lots of things that want to be a part of it, but we’re cutting back on those things to hopefully have a bit more of a streamlined show.” This will be a great ceremony since the nominations for Game of the Year include God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring and more.

There will be close to 30 games showing content along with 10 new game announcements. This guarantees a good show for the fans. The short duration is better in general since there will be better quality of content rather than quantity. The Game Awards 2022 air on December 8.
