There is a new Steam Game Festival on the horizon and there are a few interesting things to note!

Steam and its Game Festivals are known for the awesome discounts that they give on different games. However, this time around Steam is reintroducing game demos as well. Steam boasts of more than 500 free game demos being featured in the festival. Not only this, but there is also going to be a chance to chat with the game devs about the upcoming games!

Steam had a really good thing going with demos on the platform. However, over the years, we saw a decline in the total number of demos actually being available with a game.

This could be due to a plethora of reasons but mainly because game developers just stopped releasing demos because of lukewarm reactions by the crowds even after the demos. Now, with the festival, Steam is probably pushing for more demos from game developers as they tend to benefit everyone.

When is the Steam Game Festival being held?

The festival is scheduled to start from 3rd February at 10 a.m and ending on 9th February at 10 a.m (Pacific Standard Time). The festival allows you to watch developer live streams as well as chat with the developers about the games they are working on. This allows you to gauge whether or not the game is for you.

Loads of games that were featured on previous festivals are going to have demos this festival. So, if you had a game that caught your eye last festival, be on the lookout as you might just get to play its demo! A couple of the games that caught our eye were

  • Almighty: Kill Your Gods (RPG)
  • Genesis Noir (Exploration Type Game)
  • Windjammers 2 (PvP)
  • The Riftbreaker (Tower Defense)
  • Blunt Force (VR Only)
  • Children Of Silentown (Point&Click, Action)

All of the games either had stunning graphics or interesting visuals which promised an extraordinary storyline. Click here to check out the trailer for the upcoming festival!
