The Real Madrid defender has refused to sign a new deal at the club. Is Sergio Ramos moving to the Paris Saint Germain in January Transfer Window?
For a multitude of years now, Sergio Ramos has become the talking point for Real Madrid during the transfer window. The club captain’s strong arm tactics to persuade his club to hand him escalated wages have worked his way with the La Liga outfit doing everything within its capability to hang onto the centreback.
However, things could turn sour for both the parties this time around with Real Madrid refusing to budge from their offer. Out of contract at the end of the season, Real Madrid have handed Sergio Ramos an extension on the same terms, a deal the defender is unwilling to accept.
Having refused the 12 million pound deal, Ramos is back to his brinkmanship. The side’s captain has spoken about PSG’s interest for him to club president Florentino Perez as per Spanish show El Chiringuito.
Sergio Ramos Informs Real Madrid Of PSG Interest
As per the program, Sergio Ramos and Perez both sat down to discuss the defender’s contract prior to Real Madrid’s showdown against Elche. Ramos had gone onto spurn the new deal offered to him by Perez with the defender using the PSG gambit to earn himself a reworked deal.
“At PSG they have told me they will make a great team with me and with Lionel Messi,” Ramos is alleged to have said by El Chiringuito, cited by Sport.
Ramos who currently has six months left on his contract could unfortunately fail to make things sway his way this time around. Real Madrid are hard pressed for funds amidst the COVID pandemic with the squad only recently agreeing to a 10% pay cut for this season.
A shortage of money at the club has seen the side make it adamantly clear to Ramos that the current contract is the best they can dish out to the player. The ongoing impasse between the two parties has put both Manchester City and Tottenham on alert with both said to be admirers of the player.
