The first ever Australian Open was held at the Warehouseman’s Cricket Ground at Melbourne !
The tournament was then called the Australasian Championships began on 17th November and ended on the 26th of November.
The competition was eventually won by Rodney Heath by beating Albert Curtis in the four sets in the final.
