Twitter erupts as Rishabh Pant scores his 1st Test 100, brings it up with a six and puts India in a good position to save the test.

Rishabh Pant had been drafted into the Indian side in order to provide some impetus to the batting line up lower down the order.
He had shown a lot of promise in his first innings, hitting a six to get off the mark, but hit a lean patch ever since, unable to get going in trying conditions.
Today he was presented with a massive opportunity, an opportunity to show the world that he could bat in English cricket, that he belonged there and that he could become a long serving wicketkeeper-batsman for India in the longest format.
And my word did he do all of that today. Coming into bat at a time when India had lost two wickets in quick succession, Pant was able to graft a gritty partnership with KL Rahul, playing with determination and utmost freedom.
The two batted freely, playing normal cricketing shots and getting India a little closer to that mammoth score of 464.
Pant was playing his shots and taking the attack to the English bowlers, not bogged down by the pressure of the situation or of the scorecard. On 95, he got down on one knee and unleashed a towering six over cow corner to bring up his first ever Test Hundred.
Twitter was ablaze with appreciation for the young man:

Maiden Test century — Rishabh Pant, take a bow!
He cut. He pulled. He drove. He lofted. He slogged. And he gets there with a six.
