Twitter reactions on Man Utd vs Southampton: Manchester United grab a late winner against Southampton.
Romelu Lukaku scored a late winner for Manchester United as Solskjaer’s side scripted yet another brilliant win at Old Trafford.
United shockingly trailed 1-0 in the first half before the side launched a memorable comeback in the second half.
Andreas Pereira scored a brilliant goal from outside the box to give United the equalizer. However, Ward-Prowse brought Southampton back to lead minutes later through a brilliant free-kick.
Diogo Dalot was brought in for an injured Alexis Sanchez and significantly changed the pace of the game as Manchester United led a series of attacks on Southampton’s defence. The side finally managed to penetrate the defence as Lukaku brought United back into the game with a right-footed goal.
Lukaku soon gave Manchester United the lead with a brilliant finish and celebrated with the fans as the side secured another three points in the league.
With this win, Manchester United are now fourth in the Premier League table as they take a point’s lead over Arsenal. Solskjaer’s men are still three points behind Tottenham.
Both the London clubs dropped points as they played out a draw in the North London derby earlier today.

After the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was upbeat about the win, stating that he enjoys ‘every second’ of his time at Old Trafford.
“I’ve got to enjoy every single second in this position. They deserved it for the energy, belief. Normally the Stretford end suck the ball in and today was the same. Great finishes. It does help with the support behind the goal,” Solskjaer said.

Lukaku has been faced with some real criticism this season, but this last week he’s put a shift in out wide against Liverpool, scored two big goals against Palace in midweek and scored two huge goals again today. He’s come through when the club needed him most. Delighted for him!

Every player but Alexis appears to be turning it on under Solskjær. Pereira and Lukaku stepped up again today. Plenty of injuries, but getting by.

Fair play to Lukaku. Four goals in two games. Gets a lot of moans and groans (often deserved) but he scores goals. Great finish for the winner today.

Romelu Lukaku, meanwhile, stated that the side is ready for the challenge at Paris as Manchester United aim to overturn a 2-0 deficit. Paris Saint-Germain defeat the side at Old Trafford in the first leg of the round-of-16 of the Champions League.
“I was focussed on the win and help my team-mates,” Lukaku said.
“The manager gave me another chance today. We have to look one game at a time and are working hard on the training ground. We are ready for the challenge.”
Man Utd have now collected 32 points in the Premier League since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as manager.

Solskjaer may be a novice but no manager on this wide earth will hammer into those players what Manchester United means more than he will. Don’t care what anyone thinks – United haven’t had a mentality like this since Ferguson. We got our club back @ManUtd and I love him for it.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær (W10-D2-L0) is only the 3rd manager to have an unbeaten PL run of at least 12 matches from the beginning of their reign at a club, after Guus Hiddink (14, Chelsea, second spell) and Maurizio Sarri (12, Chelsea).#MUFC

Solskjaer, meanwhile, praised Lukaku for his new-found form.
“He’s (Lukaku) a good finisher, he loves scoring goal. You can’t beat it. You see the way he celebrates every day in training,” Solskjaer said.
• Our midfield is very light weight without Matic & Herrera.
• Andreas scored a great goal but did not do much.
• Lukaku steps up his game again.
• Sanchez steps down again.
• Yes Pogba is our 1st PK taker but he should let Lukaku took it for the hattrick. #MUFC #MUNSOU pic.twitter.com/fj2Zj6Jy7C— RËPHRÄ5Ë (@Phra5e) March 2, 2019

United so much better now Sanchez off and Pereira pushed further on into that false nine position, with Lukaku and Rashford either side, and Dalot wide-ish in a midfield three with McTominay and Pogba. So much more energy and intensity
