Twitter reacts as Andy Murray loses in the First Round of Queen’s
When you thought that things could only move upwards for Andy Murray, he has gone ahead and taken another step south. Queen’s has always been Murray’s happy hunting ground, but when he needed it most, Queen’s refused to dish out a tasty dessert for him, instead it chose to provide him with a bitter, bitter main course.
On a day when Stan Wawrinka and Milos Raonic exited the tournament, you felt like Murray would bring in some normalcy, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
World number 90, Jordan Thompson knocked out the defending champion, Andy Murray in straight sets(7-6 (7-4) 6-2). Thompson was a late replacement for the injured Aljaz Bedene.
Murray looked very rusty, and while the windy conditions were not really ideal, you would have expected Murray to adjust better, at least better than the 90th ranked Thompson.
It isn’t the ideal preparation for Wimbledon for Murray, as both his Wimbledon titles have come after wins in Queen’s. Murray would have to do a lot of soul searching to even be competitive at Wimbledon(with this form especially). But great players rise to great occasions and Murray fans would be expecting him to rise up to the task at Wimbledon next week.
This is how Twitter reacted:

Murray's run of breaking serve in 136 consecutive matches (stretching back to 2015 US Open) comes to an end as he fails to break today.

The trolling of Andy Murray because he lost at Queens is appalling. It's says a lot more about the trolls than it does about Andy Murray.

Andy Murray loses in straight sets in his 1st round match at Queen's to a 90 seed. Do you think probably just turned up for a quick workout?

Andy Murray Bellend ego "I'm going to donate my winnings" loses in 1st round. They say Scots are tight but that's a bit much. Dig deep lad.
