Twitter reacts as Petr Cech decides to retire after 20 years of professional football

Petr Cech has announced his retirement from the game of football. 

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has announced his retirement from professional football following an industrious 20-year- joyful career at the top level. The 36-year-old will hang up his boots when this season concludes. He is one amongst the few players to have played for both Arsenal and Chelsea.

In the below statement, the Czech International said that he has would like to end his footballing career after winning everything he has participated. The shot-stopper is one among the several players to have won the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, and League Cup.

After attracting plenty of interest during his Rennes days, Jose Mourinho was quick to wrap him at Chelsea upon his arrival. He went on to make 333 appearances in the next eleven years, winning team and individual accolades in the process.

He has made 1006 saves in the Premier League which is the most by any Premier League goalkeeper till date. Besides, he kept 24 clean sheets in a single campaign which is the most by any shot-stopper in a single season.

Arsenal was the next destination for him when he decided to move to Chelsea’s arch-rivals in 2015. He has made 110 appearances for the club, lifting the FA Cup once.
