The mixed martial arts society was left astounded this past weekend, when disabled athlete, Zion Clark made his professional MMA debut. The 25-year-old has a background in wrestling and is a former All-American and D1 wrestler. Earlier last week, news of his bout went viral, as it was on the cusp of occurring. While a great many poked fun at the martial artist, Clark’s goal never wavered; To prove his doubters wrong.

And exactly that he did! Zion Clark picked up a unanimous decision victory against Eugene Murray earning the laurels of fellow athletes within the sport such as Derek Brunson, Weili Zhang, and last but not least Conor McGregor.
The former two-weight world champion was left awestruck by Clark’s performance, so he sent him a congratulatory tweet. The Notorious one displayed just how much he respected Clark’s personality by dissecting the maneuver in which to stop him.

Over the past couple of years, Conor McGregor has earned himself a reputation for his notorious behavior on social media. The Irishman has utilized the platform as a way to convey his thoughts on numerous subjects, both controversial and otherwise.
This time, however, the former 155lbs king had decided to pay Zion Clark a touching tribute, in light of his defining performance over the weekend. Clark utilized his wrestling and was able to out-grapple Murphy on his way to victory.

An incredible display of showmanship from McGregor. Clark took note of the message and reverted back to the 34-year-old in a tweet of his own and said:
“Appreciate the love and respect @TheNotoriousMMA this is just the start for me I’m excited to see how far I can take my fight game! I proved the doubters wrong in wrestling becoming an All American and D1 Wrestler. All respect”

They say when the whole world is looking down on you, there’s always someone radiating positivity. And despite the general reputation that McGregor holds, he became exactly the optimistic light in Clark’s life.

Clark will be extremely overjoyed that he received a message from the former UFC lightweight champion himself. The only question that remains is what’s next for Clark?! This time, there will be millions awaiting his presence.
