The UFC light heavyweight title was recently vacated by the former champion Jiri Prochazka after he suffered a serious injury in his training camp for his rematch against Glover Teixeira. Thus, after the fallout, UFC set Jamahal Hill vs. Glover Teixeira for the light heavyweight gold at UFC 283 inside Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today.

Fight fans witnessed a war between the light heavyweight combatants as both Teixeira and Hill went guns blazing at each other. Although Hill looked like an edge ahead of the Brazilian in the rounds, Teixeira just refused to give up. He was answering the American shots. Both fighters had their moments in the fight. But the title fight went to a distance.

However, ‘Sweet Dreams’ had done enough to get the nod from the judges on the cards. He became the new light heavyweight champion of the world and the first Dana White Contender Series fighter to become a UFC champion.
