Alexander Volkanovski Vs. Brian Ortega: Who Will Start As The Favourite?
It is a Featherweight bout and in the division, Alexander Volkanovski has over the years emerged as the undisputed king. The fighter is currently on a 19-match winning streak and out of those he has garnered 9 in the leading MMA promotion in the world.
The Great is undefeated in UFC and claimed the title in 2019 after convincingly defeating Max Holloway. He cemented his reign in the second encounter with Holloway and now awaits a new challenge in the form of Brian Ortega. Brian Ortega received the title shot after beating Chan Sung Jung at UFC Fight Island 6.
When it comes to the overall win/loss record, the two leading men of the 145-pound weight class display similar merit, and both have competed 9 times in UFC, but if it is the concern of who will be favored by the odds, then Volkanovski may foresee an edge over T-City. Ortega’s registered defeat against Max Holloway may guide the oddsmakers to present Volkanvski as the betting favorite.
However, the pre-match odds remain of no value once the Octagon gets closed. After that, the fighter who makes better adjustments prevails eventually.
