According to various sources, Dustin Poirier has given his written nod to face Conor McGregor on January 23, 2020.

While, until this his news broke-out there were speculations about a switch in the opponents, as there were rumors running lately that Justin Gaethje might be the one facing McGregor on the targeted date instead of Poirier. However, with Diamond’s approval the picture is finally clear i.e., the concerned fighters are only Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor Hasn’t Signed The Agreement Yet

The contest is seemingly set to headline 2021’s first Pay-Per-View event-UFC 257- but for that, both parties require to sign the fight deal. With Poirier on board the wait is for the Notorious One to also get on with it, and formally announce his comeback in UFC.

The Mystic Man, as mentioned in the tweet (above) has already agreed verbally. And on top of that, he just recently cut out a focused figure, via Twitter, where he claimed that, he is raring to go back in the ring again, but is waiting for official confirmation. So, in lines with this there are non-existent doubts that the fight may fell through, however, in the fight game there’s nothing concrete until it indeed is.

Therefore, till then this much anticipated rematch between these heavyweights of the Lightweight division is only partially official.
