Did Conor McGregor predict Jose Aldo's Victory at UFC Vegas 17?

Conor McGregor apparently tried to pull a “Mystic Mac” on Jose Aldo Vs. Marlon Vera, which was the co-main event of UFC Vegas 17.

There once was a time when Jose Aldo was a force to reckon with. He with his 18 match (7 in UFC) undefeated streak was at the summit of the Pound-For-Pound rankings, and also had a title strap in the form of Featherweight gold to brandish.

Then came Conor McGregor and a decade of dominance ended, suddenly everything turned upside down for Aldo. Since, the famous 13-second defeat to McGregor at UFC 194, stains of regular losses flawed Jose Aldo’s incredible MMA record. He was 25-1 before he faced McGregor and prior to the recent fight night it was 28-7.

After garnering all these losses, Aldo’s future in UFC was seemingly in jeopardy but the Brazilian returned to winning ways at the final fight night of 2020 and has eradicated all the speculations for now.

At the event, Jose Aldo was the betting favorite and was expected to prevail over Marlon Vera. And much to the delight of his fans he eventually won the contest. While it was an anticipated outcome but, what happened prior to that certainly wasn’t.

Did Conor McGregor predict Jose Aldo’s Victory at UFC Vegas 17?

Before the fight started, Conor McGregor apparently predicted that Jose Aldo would win the Performance of the Night bonus. However, it not clear whether it was a prediction or a jibe by the Notorious one but, he did write this phrase in the comment section of Dana White’s Instagram post, which features Jose Aldo warming-up before making the walk to the Octagon.

If it were a prediction by the Mystic Mac then contrary to the one that he made when he faced Aldo, this time it didn’t come true, as Jose Aldo did not get the Performance of the Night honor.
