Cody Stamann is not receptive to Merab Dvalishvili’s challenge. The two were initially booked to face each other on UFC Vegas 18.

UFC Vegas 18 was a stacked show but at the eleventh hour, it witnessed a curtailment in its main card. The intriguing Featherweight bout between Cody Stamann and Askar Askar could not go beyond the fight sheet as Askar was not medically cleared to compete.

Since the scrappage took place just a few hours before the commencement of the event, therefore, no substitute fighter could be summoned, and hence Stamann also could not enter the Octagon.

While Stamann’s payday turned into a frustrating passage of time but, it won’t have any effect on his future. Being a top 15 prospect in the Featherweight division, Stamann is never short of an imminent challenge and this time the individual who challenged him is just above him in the UFC Featherweight rankings.

Cody Stamann and Merab Dvalishvili engage in a Twitter tussle over their canceled bout

During the fight night, Merab Dvalishvili took to Twitter to call out Mr wonderful and invited him to get on board for an Octagon meet. The two were expected to face each other in December 2020 but, in the run-up, Cody Stamann withdrew on account of unknown reasons. Further, the bout was transferred to the card of UFC Vegas 18 but this time it was Dvalishvili, who pulled out due to an injury.

However, it seems the Georgian is ready to resume from where it left off and has put forth the option of rescheduling in front of Cody Stamann.

“Cody Stamann, hey sorry about your flight cancellation. I am good to go now. Let’s reschedule our fight!”

The supposed call out ensued a back-and-forth between Dvalishvili and Stamann, which apparently showcased that Stamann is not eager to share the ring space with him.
