In the interview, Hooker was also asked about his future endeavors and his take on a potential matchup with Conor McGregor.

A week has passed since the culmination of UFC 257 and apparently, the MMA fraternity is now mulling over what’s next for the Lightweight prospects, in particular for Dan Hooker. The 30-year-old is still one of the finest Lightweights, hence a potential challenge is never out of the horizon. But, is Conor McGregor a possible next fight for Hooker, is a matter of discussion. However, when he was asked about the same, the Kiwi fighter did say that a fight with the Notorious will interest him in the future.

“I say people’s names and call people out and do all that kind of thing when it makes sense. But I’m being practical about the whole situation, I’m back in the gym, I’m training, I’m wrestling, I’m grappling but getting hit in the head is not even a thought of mine for the coming months. Like you just gotta be smart about it, so I’m not like even thinking about that.”

“At this stage right now, I’m not thinking about it. That would come when I’m back in the gym, man, and feeling 100%. When I’m ready to fight and get back in there, I feel like that’s the conversation.”
