Michael Chandler Labeled ‘Thirsty’ for Conor McGregor as UFC 300 Super Fight in Doubts

Former UFC championship contender Michael Chandler can’t stay cool after his fight with Conor McGregor seems to be on the verge of falling over a cliff. The Irish fighter failed to meet the USADA deadline, putting the bout in peril. Chandler has been working hard to prepare for the fight since it was first discussed. He may, however, be left with no opponent.

As a result, ‘Iron’ appears disappointed with the entire scenario. He recently turned to his official Twitter account to express his frustration. Let’s check out what Chandler stated.

What did Michael Chandler say about Conor McGregor?

Fans have been early, waiting for Conor McGregor’s return. However, the former two-division UFC champion has yet not entered the USADA testing pool. Thus, it is very unlikely that ‘The Notorious’ will be allowed to fight.

Talking about the same, Chandler posted a video on Twitter in which he revealed ‘adding insult to injury’ USADA has come to his house for testing. He also called out McGregor in the clip. Chandler said:

“Alright guys, you guys have all seen the news: Conor’s not in USADA. One hundred and seventy-nine days left until December 16, which is supposed to be the last pay-per-view of the year. And comically, USADA shows up at my door today to add insult to injury. Where you at, boy?”

This year, Conor McGregor was slated to headline a pay-per-view with Michael Chandler. According to rumors, it was UFC 296, the year’s last pay-per-view event, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

McGregor, on the other hand, was required to enter the USADA testing pool before June 16, 2023, which he did not do. As a result, the fight is jeopardized. It will surely be disappointing for the fans and even Chandler if the fight fails to come to fruition. Interestingly, Chandler seems to have an optional opponent.

Chandler receives a call-out amidst the McGregor fight fiasco

Following his third-round knockout victory at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Arman Tsarukyan, ranked eighth in the lightweight division, called out Michael Chandler. After two consecutive victories, Tsarukyan made it obvious that he wanted someone from the top five. Chandler appears to be a viable opponent.

Tsarukyan revealed in the post-fight interview with ESPN that Beneil Dariush will be unable to compete at October’s UFC 294 event in Abu Dhabi due to his loss this month. He also stated that considering McGregor’s current situation, he does not believe the bout will take place this year.

As a result, the lightweight champion stated that Michael Chandler would be a feasible choice for him. Although it appears to be a solid match-up, nothing can be said for the time being.

Is Arman Tsarukyan a good opponent for Chandler? What are your thoughts on Chandler’s video? Do you guys think Chandler vs. McGregor will happen?
