YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul delivered a dominant performance in the ring against BJJ star Dillon Danis in a 10-round boxing rules match. ‘The Maverick’ earned approximately $500,000 for the fight held in Manchester, England, while the MMA star earned around $300,000. Prior to the bout, both fighters had a gentleman’s agreement that if Danis showed up to face the WWE star on October 14, they would have a rematch in MMA. This would imply that the older Paul brother could potentially earn $800,000 for accepting a rematch. However, following his victory over Dillon Danis, Logan Paul wasted no time in calling out Conor McGregor for a potential clash.
‘The Maverick’ was clearly dominating the fight, and in between rounds, both fighters were discussing the possibility of a rematch in MMA. Paul ultimately secured the victory via disqualification. Despite the anticipation, post-fight, many were surprised that Paul didn’t bring up the topic of a potential MMA rematch.
Logan Paul calls out Conor McGregor after defeating Dillon Danis
The Misfit boxing co-main event featuring Paul and Danis concluded in chaos within the ring. After Danis was escorted out of the ring, Paul proceeded to conduct his post-fight interview.
During this interview, he extended challenges to WWE star Rey Mysterio and UFC star Conor McGregor. He said:
“Hey, Conor McGregor, you see that? I took your b*tch and put him on a walk. Who’s the real fighter now, bruh? Maybe, if Conor McGregor wants to stand up for his b*tch, I’ll face him next year.“
Interestingly, one year before their fight, Logan Paul claimed that the Danis bout made sense. It was because Paul viewed it as a roadmap to a potential clash with Conor McGregor.
Paul setting up the McGregor bout
In June 2022, Logan Paul engaged in a captivating conversation with True Geordie on his podcast. During their dialogue, Paul discussed how his bout with Dillon Danis might lay the groundwork for a potential future fight with the Irishman.
Both of the Paul brothers have expressed a keen interest in facing McGregor. When discussing the potential fight, Paul shared his unwavering confidence in going up against ‘The Notorious’. He said:
“It [Dillon Danis fight] also sets me up for a potential Conor [McGregor] fight. Should that ever happen. Jake’s also trying to fight Conor, right? Myself or Jake will fight Conor McGregor, eventually.“
While a fight with McGregor would undoubtedly be an intriguing matchup, it remains unclear whether the Irishman will accept the invitation.
Conor McGregor is currently dedicated to making his return to the octagon in peak condition, yet there’s the possibility of him venturing into exhibition boxing once more, even after retiring from MMA.
