UFC Fight Island 8 Card: Preliminary and Main Fight Card

UFC Fight Island 8 has an intriguing card lined up. The event is set to take place on January 20.

After a remarkable start to the third stint at Fight Island, there is no respite as the attention now shifts to UFC Fight Island 8. When the schedule of the ongoing International Fight Week was shared, the January 20 event was tagged with the much-awaited Khamzat Chimaev Vs. Leon Edwards headliner, however, Covid-19 wiped off the bout from the event.

With the scrapping of the set main event, the initial co-main event Michael Chiesa Vs. Neil Magny gets the elevation to become the new headliner.

UFC Fight Island 8 is the penultimate fight night of the week, which will conclude with the year’s first Pay-Per-View UFC 257, and like UFC Fight Island 7 it will also take place inside The Etihad Arena, where there is a provision of a limited gathering of fans.

While UFC Fight Island 7 proved to be a big hit after an incredible Max Holloway spectacle, and with UFC 257 needs no explainer, Fight Island 8 remains to be the only event that is apparently less known, and the fact that it will come about on a weekday hasn’t helped in the show’s promotion.

But, with the fight card attached to the event, there’s a possibility that Fight Island 8 can stand out among the treble.

Michael Chiesa Vs. Neil Magny and Warlley Alves Vs. Mounir Lazzez are the event’s feature fights and with them, there are a whopping 14 fights lined up at the event.
