UFC Lightweight Rankings 2021: UFC 257 substantially impacted the ranking scene of the UFC Lightweight division. Khabib Nurmagomedov is still the champion and Michael Chandler gets a summit position.

After the culmination of the much-anticipated event that was UFC 257, the changes have begun to trigger. The mega show featured star-studded Lightweight action that involved the top prospects of the division in the headlining fights.

While Michael Chandler and Dan Hooker were tipped to heat up the co-main event, the high profile rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier was the event’s headliner. The pre-match odds favored Hooker and McGregor, however, what ultimately transpired at the event was the opposite of what the oddsmakers predicted.

Chandler’s sensational UFC debut and Poirier’s TKO win over Conor, not only changed the title contention scenario but also changed the ranking scene of the 155-pound weight class.

The updated rankings after UFC 257 will be available on the official website of UFC later on, Tuesday, but according to an insightful by TSN UFC 257 brought major changes in the top 10.

UFC Lightweight Rankings 2021

Although there is still no concrete word about the future of Khabib Nurmagomedov yet, the Eagle is still flying at the top. According to updated rankings, Khabib Nurmagomedov is still the undisputed UFC lightweight champion.

With a win over the sport’s most recognized fighter, Dustin Poirier has reclaimed the No.1 spot in the rankings, displacing Justin Gaethje in the process. Whereas, the other winner of the event’s feature fight, the former Bellator Lightweight champ, Michael Chandler enters the list as the No.4 UFC Lightweight.

When it comes to the losing participants, Conor McGregor slips to 6th from 4th and Hooker slumped to 8th.
