UFC News: Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira Are Booked For December 12 UFC 256

Tony Ferguson gets the date he wanted. El Cucuy is set to face Charles Oliveira on December 12, 2020.

A surprise booking is on its way, as according to sources Tony Ferguson is set to fight Charles Oliveira at UFC 256. El Cucuy is a fan favorite fighter and was on the lookout for his second booking for quite some time. He recently made claims about wanting to end the year in style, and though Michael Chandler was the targeted opponent, the fighters could not arrive on the same page regarding the date. Ferguson pushed for December 12, and Chandler Wanted the co-main event spot of UFC 257.

Now, as per the latest update, it turns out Ferguson’s wish to get on the card of UFC 256 has been heard, and thus he is set to share the ring space alongside the No.6 ranked Lightweight Charles Oliveira.

Both the fighters have only stepped once inside the Octagon in 2020. While Tony lost his bout against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, Oliveira on the other hand came out victorious over Kevin Lee in March and is currently on an 8-match winning streak.

The two are also a subject of an impressive MMA record (Tony: 25-4. Oliveira: 29-8). So, this fight would be an ultimate spectacle between the two technically very sound Lightweights and moreover, would bring a title clarity from one corner.
