Valorant Reyna Guide: How to Play Her in the Current Meta

Reyna is one of the weakest duelists in the current meta in Valorant and is only suitable for solo players. Her kit is based solely on getting a kill, otherwise, all other abilities can easily be countered.

Before the nerfs, Reyna was one of the best agents in the game. She had four dismiss/healing bars and her viability on the professional play was still alive. Now, we rarely see her in professional matches except in the Pacific League where Paper Rex dominates with the Agent.

In this guide, we will attempt to make Reyna a viable agent and see what we can do in Valorant to ensure that she can provide support to the team by doing the one job she was designed to do; eliminate enemies. Let’s get into it.

(Q): Devour

Enemies killed by Reyna leave behind Soul Orbs that last 3 seconds. INSTANTLY consume a nearby soul orb, rapidly healing for a short duration. Health gained through this skill exceeding 100 will decay over time. If EMPRESS is active, this skill will automatically cast and not consume the orb.

(E): Dismiss

INSTANTLY consume a nearby soul orb, becoming intangible for a short duration. If EMPRESS is active, also become invisible.

(C): Leer

EQUIP an ethereal destructible eye. ACTIVATE to cast the eye a short distance forward. The eye will Nearsight all enemies who look at it.

(X): Empress

INSTANTLY enter a frenzy, increasing firing speed, equip and reload speed dramatically. Scoring a kill renews the duration.

Attacker Side Strategies

Reyna is most viable on the attack side because you have the Leer ability to create space for the team when entering the site. However, ensure that you are taking first contact since you can always Dismiss out with your ability after getting a pick, your teammates can’t.

Your sole job in the team is to take contact, gather information by taking peeks, and be unpredictable towards the enemy so that they don’t expect where you peek from. Here are a few tips.

  • Use your Leer in wide open areas without much cover to get the most value out of it.
  • Use the Leer before peeking at an entry point on sight.
  • Dismiss out onto cover if there are too many enemies.
  • Communicate with your team and double-swing if you can on certain angles.
  • Be aggressive in the post-plant.

Defensive Side Strategies

Reyna is solely responsible for ensuring that there are more numbers on your team. That is why, your objective is to ensure you take first peeks and try to get more; either information or kills whenever you can using this Agent. There are only a limited number of things you can do with Reyna because of her abilities.

However, if you possess raw mechanical aim then you could be a little free in taking space solo. Otherwise, we suggest playing with your team and supporting them during site hits.

  • Delay enemies using your Leer
  • Hold aggressive/off angles
  • Gather information, take a fight if you can, and retreat by using Dismiss

Final Verdict About Reyna in Valorant

Reyna is a difficult duelist for people who do not have pinpoint accuracy and faster reaction times. Her kit is designed for her to reap kills and go out and take fights. Because Valorant is a team-based game, it can be difficult for her to help teammates if she does not create space or dies within seconds of a site hit.

That is why, we think she should be used only when one wants to have fun. Alternatively, players with the best mechanical aim and raw skill can go with her because of her kit. The verdict is if you want to play as a team, do not pick her. However, if you are playing solo and want to be ahead of the team, pick her.
