Video reveals difference between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, goes viral

Video revealing difference between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi goes viral after the Portuguese’s apparent dive against Genoa.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of diving against Genoa after getting a contact from Antonio Sarabia in Juventus’ last game. Many believe that Ronaldo did this to win a last-minute penalty.

To Juventus’ fortune, the alleged act by Ronaldo makes him win a penalty for his side, and the Old lady club wins the match by a scoreline of 2-1.

In response, one fan has made a video comparing the ‘dive’ to a brilliant moment of sportsmanship from Messi last season. During a game against Rayo Vallecano, last season Messi told the referee not to award a penalty for a supposed foul on him.

The Argentine International reportedly told the referee that the challenge on him was legal and his side does not deserve a penalty. Eventually, Barcelona won the match by 3-1.

For this act, Messi was lauded by fans and indeed it was a lovely show of sportsmanship from the 32-year-old and showed his good nature. Many have replied to the tweet praising the Barca captain saying it’s one of the reasons they look at him in a fonder light than Ronaldo.

Both Messi and Ronaldo are amidst an intensely personal rivalry, probably the most competitive one in the history of the game, and the fans at both ends do vie against each other while leaving no stone unturned to prove the superiority of their hero.

Thus, amidst all of this, the behaviour of both players do earn significance and at often times, Messi’s sophisticated image make even neutrals admire him over ‘arrogant’ Ronaldo.

Nevertheless, it would be harsh to undermine the credentials of Ronaldo for one dive, which he probably took for his team’s sake and is often seen in other teams too.
