Sachin Tendulkar's message for Virat Kohli

The entire Indian team along with Captain Virat Kohli and veteran keeper-batsman MS Dhoni has started their journey for the long and challenging tour of England and Ireland.

As the Indian cricketers put their blue jerseys on and try to give their hundred percent for the nation, it’s time to cheer them on. Following the IPL, the fans got some taste of international cricket when India locked horns against Afghanistan in the one-off test between the two nations at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

However, it was hardly a competition as the game got over within 2 days with India comprehensively beating Afghanistan by an innings. Now is the time for some testing times in overseas conditions.

Kohli and Ravi Shastri partook in a press conference yesterday and now the team along with Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni, has flown for the lengthy tour of England and Ireland.

Kohli posted a picture of the flight on Twitter. He wrote, “Off we go. UK Bound!” tagging MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan and support staff member Arun Kanade along.

The tour will start mildly and then snowball into something more competitive. India will begin its UK tour with the two match T20I series against Ireland to be played on the 27th and 29th of June. Once that is done, India would then move to England where the first T20I begins on the 3rd of July.

After the three match T20I series, both teams will play against each other in a three match one day series. England are undoubtedly the most fierce limited overs team at present and Kohli & Co. can certainly expect some riveting competition.

I, a failed cricketer say: write picturesque, write insightful; otherwise don’t write. My writings are a source of self pleasure. Enjoy a fiercely fought test session much more than a slam bang T20. I write anything, as per whim- news piece, feature, opinion, editorial, preview, analysis etc. Hope to write a book one day!
