In 2014, Virat Kohli was slowly climbing up the cricketing ladder and establishing himself as one of the most exciting batsmen in world cricket.
It was during the World T20 in Bangladesh, when Kohli played yet another stunning knock to guide India past South Africa in the semi final. The cricketing world marveled at Kohli’s brilliance with the bat, as people started to appreciate and recognize the Delhi batsman as one of the world’s finest.

After the match, English women’s cricket star Danielle Wyatt asked Kohli to marry her on Twitter, which immediately got picked up by news agencies all over the world.
“Ten minutes later,” she recalled in an interview with ESPNcricinfo, “I picked my phone up and I’ve got 1000s of favourites and retweets, it’s all over Indian news, they’re emailing my dad at home.
“When we met, he said to me: ‘You can’t do things like that on Twitter! They take things seriously!’ I was like, ‘okay. Sorry!'”

Kohli was embarrassed, but was happy to find a new fan in Danielle.
Now in 2018, Kohli is a married man and Danielle is a hugely successful cricketer in her own right. With the the English women’s team set to travel to India in a few days time for a tri-nation tournament, Wyatt has revealed that she will use the bat that Virat had gifted to her a few years back.
“I’m using Virat Kohli’s bat now,” Wyatt told ESPNcricinfo in an interview.
“The bat I hit the century with broke not long ago. So now I’ll be using Virat’s,” Wyatt said.
Wyatt will be hoping to meet Kohli during her stay in India, as the English star still remains a big fan of the Indian skipper. Kohli is currently taking time out, as he is recuperating ahead of the big season set to start with the IPL.
Will try and get to a game ☺☺
