Virat Kohli talks about the most balanced side in IPL 2018

Virat Kohli cut a frustrated figure at the post match presentation today. RCB had succumbed to yet another loss and their playoff fate did not entirely depend on their performances alone.

RCB’s loss was a combination of some brilliant bowling from the SRH bowlers and some average shot selection on part of the RCB batsmen.

Chasing a meagre total of 146 odd, RCB would have expected themselves to get those runs, especially with both Kohli and ABD in their line up.

But, none of the RCB batsmen really dug their teeth into the chase, playing tentative cricket.

Kohli was the only batsman who looked a little positive in his approach, taking the attack to the SRH bowlers and not let them settle into their rhythm.

However, after he was dismissed, none of the RCB batsmen could anchor the chase through. Mandeep and CDG did string a partnership together, but Bhuvi and Kaul proved to be a little too good for them at the end.

Kohli was disappointed after the loss but labelled SRH as the best bowling unit in the IPL. He was also quick to point out that KXIP and CSK are probably the most balanced sides in the IPL at the moment.

“If you have strong characters in the team you can always do well in such a tournament. Sunrisers have quite a few guys in the team – that has been the story of their season. They understand their team and that’s why they have been so successful. They understand their strengths, know their limitations. That’s been their story and this has been ours. As an all-round team Chennai and Punjab are good. As a bowling team, Sunrisers are the strongest team.” Kohli said.
