Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo invites Lionel Messi to a dinner during the Champions Leagueb draw as questions were asked about their rivalry.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are undoubtedly the greatest footballers to ever grace the game. Their unparalleled consistency has given some unbelievable moments since last 15 years.
This is also believed by Ronaldo, who talked about his relationship with Messi, while the UEFA awards along with the Champions League draw were going on.
Messi and Ronaldo’s rivalry was at the peak when the latter was in Real Madrid, and both had to face each other in El Clasicos every year. However, with the Portuguese International going to Juventus, their competition also slowed down.
However, it did not stop both of them to face each other at the UEFA Player of the year award ceremony along with Virgil Van Dijk.
Even though, Van Dijk clinched the award from the two, but the spotlight were on Messi and Ronaldo, who talked about their experiences with each other in all these years.
To this, Ronaldo spoke, “I shared this stage with him (Messi) for 15 years,” Ronaldo said.”
“I don’t know if it has ever happened before in football – the same two guys in the same stage all the time. Of course we have a good relationship – we have not had dinner together yet, but I hope so in the future.
“We have that battle, he pushed me and I pushed him as well. It’s great to be a part of the history of football. I am there, and of course, he is as well.” he concluded.

Indeed, this moment was really special for the football fraternity, as in the last decade both the players have consistently dominated the world football.
It is true that both the players have pushed each other to the greatness, which could not be dreamed off.
