The player scored a sumptuous strike after coming on as a substitute
Initially not even named in his side’s playing 11 against Arsenal, Erik Lamela ended up being the defining factor for his side in the London derby showdown.
Coming on as a substitute in only the 19th minute as Heung-Min Son lumbered off the pitch after sustaining an injury, Lamela ripped Arsenal apart on the night. Receiving the ball from Sergio Reguilon inside a tight space, Erik Lamela netted home a crafty rabona to give his side the lead on the day.
Lamela Stuns Arsenal
Least perturbed by the Arsenal backline infront of him, Erik Lamela pulled off his customary rabona to pinch the goal past Arsenal’s defenders. It was a resplendent effort, one which left Tottenham’s players in shock and awe of the precision with which Lamela pulled off the move.
Fullback Reguilon who recorded the assist for the strike was seen left flabbergasted at the worldclass nature of Lamela’s hit. Lamela’s strike found the bottom right hand corner of the goal with the ball nestling into the net after traversing its way past Partey’s legs.
The goal came off Tottenham’s first shot on goal on the night. However, Arsenal were quick to reply with Martin Odegaard restoring parity on the day right before the whistle blew for the first half.
If Lamela had a right foot, we would not have seen a Rabona. 🤣🤣pic.twitter.com/TerzDwn9Z2

Odegaard Levels For Arsenal
Odegaard has endured a strong start to life at Arsenal after failing to make the cut under Zidane at Real Madrid. The player’s stellar showings in London could prompt Arsenal into opting for a permanent move for the midfielder who joined the club on loan in January.
Martin Odegaard scores for Arsenal again!!!!
We deserve this equaliser

The contest is a crucial one for Tottenham with a win taking the club into the Europa League slots. The side is looking to extend its current three match winning spree as it strives to keep its resurrection going in the league.
“It’s a derby, with the emotion around it I don’t think the form matters at the moment. If you look also to their results also very positive results. They have one foot already in the quarter finals of the Europa League. I think it’s a very positive moment for both of us,” Tottenham’s Jose Mourinho had said prior to the contest.
