Hardik Pandya has made some giant strides in the ongoing series against Australia, as the all-rounder from Baroda picked up his second Man of the Match award in the 3rd ODI in Indore.
After being promoted to number four, Pandya played a match winning knock as he he powered India to a series win. When Kohli and Jadhav were dismissed in quick succession, the Australians must have felt that they had a chance.
But that’s when Pandya took control, as he and Manish Pandey put on a partnership to steady the ship for India. While Pandya was dismissed just before the finish line, his innings was another sign of his rising stature in the game.
Early on his innings, Pandya and Pat Cummins had got involved in a verbal spat. Cummins tried to unnerve the batsman as he realized the Pandya had to be removed early on.
Pandya though did not flinch and gave it back to Cummins, while the watching umpire could not help but smile to himself.
Clearly, Pandya proved tonight that he is indeed here to stay!
