WATCH: Kimi Raikkonen’s super emotional radio message after winning US Grand Prix
Kimi Raikkonen managed to do the unimaginable, winning his first grand prix in 113 race starts, denying Lewis Hamilton(and Max Verstappen) the race win.
And while doing that, he also ensured that the title race extended to Mexico, as Hamilton finished in 3rd and Vettel in 4th.
The last 10 laps or so have to be the best part of the season, with Hamilton, Verstappen and Raikkonen going at it for the win.
Vettel then somehow managed to get past Bottas, having already ruined his race by colliding with Ricciardo and spinning off track.
Kimi Raikkonen was rightfully ecstatic after the win, having not won one in 113 race starts.
With the Finn set to leave Ferrari at the end of the season, this win would surely rank right up there for him, as in the end it got a little too tricky with Verstappen and Hamilton breathing down his neck.
In the post race radio message, when Kimi’s engineer informed him that he had won the race, an emotional Kimi cried out ‘fucking finally’.
The Ferrari family and everyone in the F1 fraternity have been outpouring their love for the Iceman who has put up a really good show this year, despite not being Ferrari’s number 1 driver.
With his Ferrari chapter coming to an end, there could have been nothing better than winning a race before going out of the door.
