WATCH: MS Dhoni signs the contract with CSK
For almost two years now CSK fans had been wanting to see MS Dhoni return back in yellow, and they were granted their wish last night, when in the IPL Retention special, Chennai Super Kings announced that they had retained MS Dhoni for the next three years.
MS Dhoni’s tryst with CSK has been one of the most romantic stories in IPL history, with a man from Ranchi becoming the heartthrob of a city nearly 2000 miles away from his hometown.
Dhoni has led CSK to two IPL titles and 2 Champions League titles, helping the franchise become one of the most successful ones in the IPL.
Dhoni’s fandom in unparalleled in Chennai, with every fan wanting Dhoni to return, despite the criticism that Dhoni has been receiving for his way of functioning in the T20 format.
Dhoni and CSK is a lovely emotional connect, that fans all over India savour. And it seems like this love story is about to write it’s last leg in emphatic fashion from this year’s IPL.

CSK have also retained Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, despite the duo being out of favour from the Indian T20 setup.
