Nico Hulkenberg’s Abu Dhabi crash was a scary one, as his car flipped in the air and smashed into the side barriers with him having to stay inside the car, as there wasn’t much space to escape.
The Halo came under serious scrutiny as in case of a fire, Hulkenberg might not have been able to get out in time, as the marshals had to flip the car over in order to help Hulkenberg climb out of it.
“I’m hanging here like a cow, get me out there’s fire.”

A lot has been said post the accident, especially with respect to the Halo, which left very little space for Hulkenberg, something that he made pretty clear in his radio message right after the accident.
Now, an onboard video that was released by F1, showed that there in fact was a lack of space for Hulkenberg and things could have gotten tricky, had there been a fire.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

However, Charlie Whiting quashed any criticism of the Halo, saying that Halo had no role to play there.
Now, while the incident was a massively serious one, social media always finds a way to find something humorous, and it did not disappoint this time as well.
In the ‘Grill the Grid’ episode, Hulkenberg was asked if he had ever been trapped somewhere in his life, to which he replied with a negative.
I guess his answer has changed now… https://t.co/pTbhl7fRIr via @reddit
