WATCH : Rafael Nadal’s mom interrupts his post match press conference

World number one Rafael Nadal is not only one of the greatest players to have played the game, he is also someone who is widely loved by tennis fans all over the world. You do not need to be a tennis fan to appreciate Nadal’s brilliance.

The Spaniard has had a wonderful 2017, wherein he scaled the peak of the tennis world once again. After a disappointing loss in the Australian Open final, Nadal bounced back and won his tenth French Open title before winning the last grand slam of the year at Flushing Meadows.

In spite of his wonderful year, Nadal has not been able to beat his long-time rival Roger Federer in any of their meetings in 2017.  The Swiss master always got the better of him, and did so once again in the Shanghai Masters final.

In the post-match conference, Nadal was suddenly interrupted by a call which turned out to be from his mother!

The Spaniard gave a sheepish smile and said that his mother does not know that he is in the middle of a press conference!

The maestro raised his brows with bewilderment and said: “My mum doesn’t know that I’m in press conference.”

Federer overcame Nadal in straight sets to defend his 94th ATP crown and the Swiss maestro surpassed the Spaniard for the fifth straight time and four of those victories coming in the year 2017.
