The mutual respect between superstars from both fields is always palpable, with social media often being the place of ‘mutual admiration outpour’.

MS Dhoni and Rajnikanth both share cult status in Chennai.
Rajnikanth’s films, his charisma and attitude have fascinated an entire generation, with fans even going to the extend of establishing temples of the hero.
MS Dhoni’s exploits with Chennai Super Kings(helping them to 2 IPL and Champions League Titles) has helped him achieve ‘god like’ status in Chennai as well, and it seems like the Dhoni fever has caught up to Rajnikanth as well.
MS Dhoni is returning to CSK after a 2 year stint with RPS, following CSK’s ban in 2015.
Dhoni, Raina and Jadeja have been retained by CSK before the IPL auction and MS Dhoni in all likelihood will be captaining the side in IPL 2018.
The IPL auction is set to take place on the 27th and 28th of January in Bengaluru with all teams vying to form a relatively new team, after the ten year contract ran out last year.
MS Dhoni is currently preparing for the upcoming ODI series in South Africa, and has opted out of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Trophy.
The ODI series begins on the 1st of February, with the Indian Team currently preparing for the 2nd Test in Centurion, after suffering an agonising loss in the 1st Test at Cape Town.
