WATCH: Stuart Broad leaves off-stump delivery from Kagiso Rabada in shambolic dismissal

Stuart Broad leaves off-stump delivery: The English seamer seamed clueless against a full delivery from the South African spearhead.

During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing England’s tour of South Africa in Cape Town, veteran England seamer Stuart Broad was involved in a shambolic dismissal against South Africa spearhead Kagiso Rabada.

It all happened on the last delivery of the 82nd over when Broad seemed clueless against a full-length delivery from Rabada. Firstly late on to get his bat down and then the bat getting stuck between his pads didn’t help Broad’s case as he ended up leaving an off-stump delivery.

Coming in to bat at No. 10 in the previous over, Broad ended up scoring 1 (3) before getting out in a manner which invited severe criticism for him. Once a handy option with the bat, the 33-year old player hasn’t been his natural self with the bat of late.

It was England captain Joe Root who won the toss and chose to bat after losing the first Test. In what has been the story of English batsmen in the recent years, most of them got to starts but failed to convert them.

England ended Day 1 at 262/9 in 89 overs with batsman Ollie Pope saving the day for them with his second Test half-century. The 22-year old player will resume batting from 56* today. With bowling figures of 11-5-26-2, South Africa all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius was their pick of the bowlers yesterday.
