Yuvraj Singh hits three consecutive sixes off Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuvraj Singh hits three consecutive sixes off Yuzvendra Chahal: The veteran batsman was on song during his brief stay in the middle.

During the seventh match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians at Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians batsman Yuvraj Singh hit Royal Challengers leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for three consecutive sixes.

In what were three balls which brought back memories from the past, the veteran batsman gave signs of being in a touch which he is usually known for. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 11th over, Yuvraj had scored five runs in the first eight balls that he faced.

On the first ball of the 14th over, Chahal’s short delivery saw him being dispatched for a gigantic six over mid-wicket. Chahal’s attempt to improve his length saw him conceding another six as the southpaw hit him over his head for another six.

With the bowler faltering on his length for the second time in the over, Yuvraj took optimum advantage as he hit another colossal six on the leg-side. Chahal finally got his act together on the fourth delivery of the over as he bowled a googly to dismiss Yuvraj.

While the batsman had attempted to go down the ground for the second time in the over, he ended up hitting the ball to RCB fast bowler Mohammed Siraj at long-off, who grabbed an excellent catch.

With Yuvraj scoring 23 (12) with the help of three sixes, it was his second impressive innings in as many matches. The left-hander had earlier scored his 13th IPL half-century against Delhi Capitals.

Earlier, Bangalore captain Virat Kohli had won the toss and chose to field. While the hosts fielded an unchanged XI, the visitors made by two changes to their playing XI by including Lasith Malinga and Mayank Markande in place of Ben Cutting and Rasikh Salam.
