When does snow leave GTA Online?

The festive season in GTA Online arrived in mid-December and is going strong. While the entire map and many activities feature a snowed-out world, this won’t last forever. However, unlike previous years, it seems that snow will remain in GTA Online for nearly two weeks into the new year. According to the Rockstar Newswire, snow will last until January 12, 2023, which will also mark the end of “Festive Surprises.”

A snippet over on the Rockstar Newswire informs fans that the ongoing festivities have an end date:

“The eggnog may have soured, but the rare Los Santos snowfall and holiday-themed festivities are still going strong in Southern San Andreas. Through January 11: take out The Gooch stalking the streets and receive The Gooch Mask; Hear those sleigh bells ring and destroy all 25 Snowmen collectibles to earn an extra GTA$125K and The Snowman outfit; Get in the middle of the action atop Weazel Plaza and neutralize your targets to get your hands on the new WM 29 Pistol; Establishing peace on the rooftop will also earn you the Season’s Greetings skin for the Pistol Mk II.”

This means that come December 12, snow and all festive activities will be retired until next December. As part of the winter festivities, players were showered with items, gifts, and even new vehicles. The newest of the lot is the Western Powersurge which is now available at Legendary Motorsport. The new motorcycle made waves when tester Broughy1322 revealed that it had the most powerful engine in the game.

However, it is not the fastest bike in the game, and despite costing $1,605,000, it’s a fairly average performer. Other content from the winter update included Fooligan Jobs, a new business, and more. Perhaps the greatest sign for the future of GTA Online is the economy rebalancing in the update. Players can look forward to a permanently boosted Smugglers Run source of income among others in 2023.
