Kedar Jadhav Replacement Today : Who has replaced Kedar Jadhav in MI vs CSK IPL 2019 Qualifier 1?

Who has replaced Kedar Jadhav in MI vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings middle-order batsman won’t take part in IPL 2019 Qualifier 1.

During the Qualifier 1 of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at Chennai, Chennai Super Kings middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav hasn’t been named in their Playing XI.

Having injured his shoulder during the last league match against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali, Jadhav had been ruled out of the tournament. In 14 matches for Super Kings in IPL 2019, Jadhav scored 162 runs at a below par average and strike rate of 18 and 95.85 respectively. Despite his lean patch, Jadhav will be doubtlessly missed in the playoffs.

Speaking during the toss, Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced that Jadhav has been replaced by Murali Vijay. “You try to break down the process into small things. We don’t think too much about the playoffs.

“It will be a mistake if we just respect Mumbai [Indians] – most of the teams are all dangerous. Mumbai is a very balanced side and they have a squad that can do well in all conditions. Kedar isn’t available, so we have , M Vijay,” Dhoni was quoted as saying after winning the toss and opting to bat.

While CSK had the option of playing several middle-order batsmen in place of Jadhav, them picking the most experienced batsman in Vijay has come as a surprising move more because of him being an opening batsman. There is no clarity on whether Chennai will persist with their opening combination of Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis or send Vijay as an opener.

“We have a good record here, but that doesn’t really matter. You have to be best on this day. [Mitchell] McClenaghan misses out, Jayant Yadav is in,” Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying.
