Who was declared Man of the Series in T20I series between India and West Indies?

Man of the Series in T20I series: India all-rounder was awarded the ‘Man of the Series’ for his all-rounder performance in three T20Is.

During the third T20I of the ongoing India’s tour of West Indies at Province Stadium in Guyana, India defeated West Indies by 7 wickets to whitewash the opposition 3-0 in the three-match T20I series.

It was a 106-run partnership between India captain Virat Kohli (59) and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant (65*) which saw India sealing the 147-run chase in the last over. At 27/2 in the fifth over, India were in a spot of bother which was rescued by the two aforementioned names.

In the first innings, pacer Deepak Chahar’s incredible bowling figures of 3-1-4-3 saw the opposition getting reduced to 146/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Other than Deepak Chahar, spearhead Navdeep Saini also registered bowling figures of 4-0-34-2.

Man of the Series in T20I series

While Deepak Chahar was declared the ‘Man of the Match’, all-rounder Krunal Pandya was declared the Man of the Series. In three T20Is, Pandya picked as many wickets at an average of 26, an economy rate of 6.78 and a strike rate of 23.

With the bat in hand, Pandya scored 32 runs in two innings at an average of 32 and a strike rate of 118.51. Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony after winning the award, Pandya laid emphasis on improving every day and opened up on Mumbai Indians teammate Kieron Pollard attacking him tonight.

“Quite satisfying and obviously won the series and to contribute in a winning cause is a good feeling. The focus is to improve every day and and I am not thinking much about anything, just trying to focus on getting better.

He [Kieron Pollard] is like a brother to me and playing against him, he knows my strength and I know his strength. I guess whoever uses his brain [gets the better of of the other],” Pandya was quoted as saying.
