Moxley reigned supreme as the champion. He came of as a legit badass while making every one of his challengers look like a million bucks. However, it had to come to an end one day and many believed that the man to do that would be none other than Omega himself.
Omega participated in a tournament to determine the no.1 contender to Moxley’s title. He beat everyone including Adam Page, his former partner, in an emotional match, en route a title shot. The stage was set as the crowd watched two of AEW’s best take on each other.

Omega and Moxley had a long hard match. In the end it was Omega who expectedly picked up the win. The manner of the win however, was far from expected. The former IWGP champion smashed Moxley in the head with a microphone while the referee was distracted with Don Callis.
Moxley was busted open with the strike but worse was coming. Omega hit the AEW Champion with four consecutive V-Trigger’s before finishing him off with a One-Winged Angel to be crowned the new World Champion of AEW.
