Bobby Lashley vs Goldberg WWE Championship match made official for SummerSlam

Bobby Lashley vs Goldberg WWE Championship match made official for SummerSlam.  The match up had been teased for weeks being officially announced.

Bobby Lashley’s opponent for the biggest party of the Summer has been confirmed. The Almighty will defend the WWE Championship against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. Goldberg challenged Lashley a couple of weeks ago but the WWE Champion expressed no interest in the match. That however, changed today.

Lashley, along with MVP, opened this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Goldberg then came out to once again challenge the WWE Champion. He told Lashley that he was next before leaving the ring.


MVP then got in the face of Goldberg’s son at ringside telling him that Lashley was going to end his father’s career.

This prompted Goldberg to come back and nail MVP with a spear as Lashley watched on from the ring.

Later in the night, Lashley later responded to Goldberg’s SummerSlam challenge in a backstage segment. The Almight accepted it and said that he hopes Goldberg brings his son to SummerSlam so he can watch him get annihilated.


SummerSlam 2021 will take place on August 21, 2021, at Allegiant Stadium in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada. It will be the 34th event under the SummerSlam chronology. It will also be the first to take place on a Saturday since the 1992 event; although it will be the first to air live on a Saturday.
