Dwayne Johnson Once Surprised A High School Student Who Asked Him To Take Her To Prom

Dwayne Johnson goes above and beyond to make his fans happy. The WWE icon-turned-Hollywood actor once gave a student the surprise of a lifetime. The surprise was in response to being asked out on prom by a student from Stillwater Area High School. In 2018, Katie Kelzenberg posted a video on her social media proposing to The Rock to take her to prom. Little did she know, she was in for a great surprise. 

As a typical Dwayne Johnson fan, Katie proposed to The Rock in her video, donning a black top, jeans, and a fanny pack. Dwayne Johnson later lauded Katie for having the courage to step out of her comfort zone and ask out The Great One to go to prom with her. In addition, Katie even made The Rock’s gym wall.

Katie Kelzenberg was having a regular Friday at school until Dwayne Johnson made sure it was a memorable one. Stillwater students were gobsmacked when they realized that Dwayne Johnson was communicating with them through the intercom.

As surprised as everybody was, Katie’s excitement level was unmatched. After introducing himself, Dwayne Johnson delivered a very special message to Katie. 

The entire time, as Johnson spoke, Katie held her face in disbelief. Johnson revealed that he would not be able to make it to the prom due to his schedule.

However, Dwayne Johnson gave Katie a gift that will leave Dwayne Johnson fans envious. The Red Notice actor stated that he had rented out a theatre for Katie and for those close to her to enjoy the screening of his then-new movie, Rampage. 

“I have a special gift. I’ve rented out a theater tomorrow, the gift is this, grab all your favorite friends and closest family members and whoever you want to bring, because tomorrow I’m showing you a screening of my new movie, Rampage … and all the popcorn and candy and soda you can drink, cause it’s all on me.”

Moreover, DJ also made sure that all the popcorn, candies, and sodas were paid for. In the end, Johnson then encouraged a chivalrous young boy to take Katie to prom before stating that she could have a blast with her girlfriends as well.

Katie had tears in her eyes. This just goes to show that Dwayne Johnson does not shy away from going the extra mile to make his fans happy. 

Dwayne Johnson’s Rampage movie was a worldwide success

In the action/sci-fi film, Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) who is a Primatologist joins a geneticist, Dr Kate Caldwell (Naomi Harris) to help an Albino Gorilla. Although the film was given mediocre ratings by the critics, the audience loved the movie. With a production budget of $120 million, the film grossed $428 million worldwide.
