Rey Mysterio says son Dominik Mysterio could wear a mask in the future. The father-son duo recently won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
Dominik Mysterio has had an excellent beginning to life in WWE. He has his father, Rey Mysterio to guide him for now. In fact, they recently won the SmackDown tag team Championships at Wrestlemania Backlash together, making them the first pair of father and son to do so.
Rey called the title win his greatest accomplishment and ranked it ahead of his world title victories. This shows how important his son’s career is to him. Does that mean Rey will hand over his legacy to his son and have Dominik wear a mask in the future?
Rey Mysterio says Dominik Mysterio could wear a mask in the future
The legendary luchador discussed the possibility of his son Dominik eventually donning a luchador mask on on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast. He told the WWE commentator that it wasn’t late for his son to wear a mask but he would have to earn it.
“That was the idea from day one that he started training: Dom will continue with this legacy and carry it on. But we never really had the opportunity to sit down and discuss our plans, which now in retrospect we can look at it and say it’s still not [too] late to make things happen like we had it planned out. So, I think Dom’s gonna have to earn the mask now, and he’s on his way. Eventually, one day, maybe the mask will be on.”
Would love to thank everyone for the love & support for last night. I’ve been blessed with my career from day 1 in 1989, and now to be able to live such a memorable moment like this one creating history with my son.
