Credit where credit’s due. It takes two to tango and there is perhaps no one better than Asuka when it comes to leading a match. She made sure she looked imposing without making Ripley look weak. This way, when she finally went down, the win would look that much more impressive for Ripley.

The match started with Asuka dominating the enocunter. Ripley countered with a kick to the chest of the champion. She thrash talked the Empress and even smacked her head a couple of times. Ripley attempted a ripcord kick but Asuka caught it and turned it into a submission. Ripley once again countered with a German Suplex for a two count.

A missile dropkick and a hip attack gave her her own two count. Ripley shifted the momentum to her side with a running dropkick before dropping her face first into the apron.

Asuka delivered a killing DDT from the apron to the floor.

The two tried to finish the match with their own finishers. In the end, it was Ripley who came out on top with a Riptide.

This was definitely not their best performance but it was still a very good match. There were a few flaws here and there but nothing too big to complain about. The bigger story here is that a deserving women got her wrestlemania moment in fron t of a live crowd.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
