Roman Reigns could face the Rock at the next Wrestlemania

Roman Reigns could face the Rock at the next Wrestlemania. This is a dream match that the WWE have long been planning to happen.

WWE have long wanted to schedule a match between the Rock and Roman Reigns. In fact, it was rumored that the two would go head to head at this year’s Wrestlemania. The Rock even mentioned desire to go one on one with his cousin. However, the match never took place. Instead, the Tribal Chief took on Edge and Daniel Bryan.

Wrestlemania 39 also known as Wrestlemania Hollywood is now believed to be the date marked for their encounter. This makes sense considering it will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California; the original location of WrestleMania 37 before the COVID-19 pandemic forced it to be relocated.

However, it seems that fans may get the dream match next year at Wrestlemania 38 instead!

Roman Reigns could face the Rock at the next Wrestlemania

Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that the WWE are still planning a match between the Rock and Roman Reigns. However, it is getting tougher due to the Brahma Bull’s age. The WWE are hoping to have the match by Wrestlemania 39 and if the Rock can pull It off, maybe even at Wrestleman ia 38.

“Obviously The Rock & Roman Reigns is something that they’re building towards and it would be — every year gets tougher and tougher because Dwayne gets a year older and, you know, but I think he really wants to do a match against Roman Reigns. I think for sure it’ll be in next two WrestleManias, and if he can pull it off, the next WrestleMania.”

The report also added that the WWE are hoping for the Rock to return at Survivor Series to set up his match with Reigns.

While Hollywood would be an ideal destination for the feud to end, no one is going to complain about the fight taking place a year early. To call it a dream match would be an understatement and we can only imagine the hype once the feud starts rolling.
