Roman Reigns turns heel on WWE SmackDown. The Big Dog has finally embraced the dark side after years of clamouring by the fans.

Many wondered if Roman had turned heel. He was a lot more violent than usual and seemed a lot edgier than before too. However, both the guys he had thrashed were heels themselves, making it harder to point if the turn had indeed taken place.

The WWE did not keep his alignment up in the air for too long. Fans got a clear answer to their question in the closing moments of this week’s episode of SmackDown.

The running narrative of the show was Adam Pearce trying to get Reigns, Strowman and Wyatt sign their match contract. Pearce managed to get Wyatt and Strowman to sign but took until the end of the show to get a hold of Reigns.

The Big Dog took his time to review the contract and demanded a few changes before signing the paper. He then promised to win the title he never lost before adding that it wasn’t a prediction but a spoiler. The camera then panned to Paul Heyman, who leaned over Reigns to say ‘Believe that’.

This was a brilliant reveal that will surely add a lot of excitement not just to Payback but to WWE as a whole going forward. The last time Reigns was a heel, the Shield were in their first run. He has since been given the John Cena treatment, where everyone around him changes while he stands still.

Fortunately, the WWE have finally listened and given the WWE universe what they’ve long desired; A heel Roman who knows what he wants and isn’t above doing what he has to in order to get it.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
