Mark Henry says AEW and Braun Strowman have expressed interested in each other

Mark Henry says AEW and Braun Strowman have expressed interested in each other. The monster among men was recently released by the WWE.

Braun Strowman’s stint with the WWE came to an end earlier this month. Many have wondered if this is the end of the road for Strowman when it comes to wrestling. The former Universal Champion has previously said that he does not see himself in a wrestling promotion other than WWE.

That sentiment however, seems to have changed since. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports,  Mark Henry declared that the Monster Among Men was very high on his list. He also revealed that there was interest on both sides to make that happen.

“Super high on my list. It’s not an all Mark Henry decision, but there’s already interest on both sides. Hopefully, by the time he’s allowed to wrestle in August, I think the middle of August, then we could have a serious conversation about contractual things of that nature but right now there’s interest on both sides. I love that dude.”

Henry was also responsible for bringing Strowman to the WWE. It is apparent that he wants to reunite with him in AEW as well. However, according to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, it appears that AEW is more interested in bringing in Tommy End (Aleister Black) instead.

“I know AEW is interested in Tommy End, but I don’t know anyone else for sure, for sure. Strowman is the weird one, because it’s like, number one to get him it’s gonna take a lot of money. Number two, he is a big star and people know who he is but he’s not going to be a needle mover, because he wasn’t a needle mover in WWE, and he is two years past his peak as an attraction.”

“Yes, when you go to a new company it is a fresh face and you’re bringing in someone new, but all I think about when you put Strowman in AEW is that it’s exactly the kind of guy that AEW fans don’t want.”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
