USA Network furious with WWE RAW Ratings

USA Network furious with WWE over Monday Night RAW Ratings. The flagship show drew its lowest viewership in history last week.

Despite being heralded as the flagship show, WWE RAW has failed to translate that into numbers, The Monday night program has consistently failed to bring in eyeballs to the show. They recently recorded an average of 1.527 million viewers on the USA Network, a 12% drop from last week’s figure of 1.737 million. This is the lowest viewership the WWE have ever had in their history!

USA network are obviously not too pleased with the numbers. According to Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, they have demanded the WWE to add more adult content to their programming. By adult however, they do not mean racy content but a more violent and dark one.

“USA Network are furious. They want more adult content. Not sexy adult, but dark and violent adult,” the report read.

WWE’s dismal performance in 2020 has led to negative reactions across the board and the situation could lead to drastic steps. This is a wake up call for the company and according to the report above, the WWE could see a ‘big reset’ from Royal Rumble onwards.

The road to Wrestlemania begins at the first pay per view of the new year and apparently so will the WWE’s climb to normalcy or perhaps even more. They will have their work cut out however, and it will not be an easy task at all.

The WWE introduced RAW Underground and Retribution to deal with the falling ratings and everyone knows how that turned out. Hopefully, the next thing the WWE comes out will be an improvement on them.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
