Former WWE Star opens up on the difference between CM Punk and John Cena. The two were as different backstage as they were on screen.
CM Punk and John Cena were the perfect foil to each other in the WWE. They were vastly different in almost every possible way and that’s what made their feud work so well. However, it seems that the differences weren’t limited to just what was shown when the cameras were rolling.

According to former WWE star Heath Slater, the two men had a very different approach of interacting with the rest of the locker room. Speaking in a Title Match Wrestling video, Slater revealed that Cena was ‘always cool’ while Punk was a moody person.

“I mean, they’re two totally different styles. John was always cool. John and Punk, they both had their bus. They would come in when they wanted to, type deal, you know.
“John would come in the locker room, shake everyone’s hand, say hello, this and that, and be cool that way. Punk would just come in and say, ‘Hey, what’s up?’ Just whatever. It’s one of those things. Two different areas, two different styles.
“With Punk, man, it was pretty much just what day you caught him on. Some days he was cool and awesome to be around, and then some days he was an a**hole. But then again I think a lot of people are like that. But yeah, I think I can honestly say he didn’t make too many friends, but I guess he got the ones that he wanted. I don’t know.”
John Cena recently made his WWE return at Money in the Bank. He then showed up on RAW the next night and challenged Roman Reigns to a match at SummerSlam for the Universal Championship.
Punk on the other hand, is reportedly on the verge of making his wrestling comeback to AEW.
