Rey Mysterio recently faced his son Dominik at WrestleMania 39. During his entrance, he rode in a low rider alongside Snoop Dogg while the ‘Lie, Cheat & Steal’ song played in the background. This was his tribute to the late great Eddie Guerrero. This was a gesture much appreciated by many, including Eddie’s wife. However, Chavo Guerrero is not a fan of it.
Chavo, the nephew of Eddie Guerrero, did not appreciate Rey Mysterio using his late uncle’s name on a constant basis. He felt that the masked luchador was using it for his benefit and asked him to stop trying to keep Eddie’s name.
Chavo Guerrero asks Rey Mysterio to stop latching on to Eddie Guerrero for his benefit
During a virtual signing with Captain’s Corner, Chavo Guerrero expressed his frustration with Rey Mysterio. He did not understand why Rey had to keep bringing his gimmick up over and over. Chavo revealed that he was tired of others using his family name for their benefit.
“Everybody’s like, keeping Eddie’s memory alive. I say no dude.
This whole family worked really hard to get that name to where it was, and we’re tired of people pr*stituting it and using it for their benefit.”
Chavo also seemed to mock Rey Mysterio by claiming that just because no one knew who his father was, he did not have to latch on to the Guerrero family. He also thanked Mysterio for keeping his family name alive, but stated that there was no need for him to do so.
“I’m sorry that no one knows who Rey Mysterio Sr. is, Rey Mysterio Jr.
I’m sorry that you have to latch on to the Guerrero family. Thank you for keeping Eddie’s name alive, but we don’t need you, we’re good.”
Chavo Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 40?
When asked about a potential match with Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 40, Chavo answered, saying that the WWE Hall of Famer was of no match to him at the moment.
However, he did ask the fans to leave a comment if they wanted to see the two in another feud before recalling all the promotions they have fought in before.
Chavo also suggested coming back to the WWE to work alongside Rey’s son Dominik. He was of the idea that the loss at WrestleMania set him back and his current feud with Bad Bunny where he kept getting beat up by a non-wrestler wasn’t doing him any favors.
Chavo said that he’d understand if it was a one-time thing, but what is happening to Dominik at the moment is not helping him grow at all.
“Hey, Dom, you need to get your heat back. You know, I know somebody.”
